This was the first run of boards that I had built. The initial run was for 3 controller boards and they came out very nice.
Getting them manufactured allowed me to add the EEPROM back to the board. This can be used for testing or data storage.
I also found that I was able to download the data directly into the EEPROM by swapping two pins on the programmer. I am looking into incorporating this into the programmer.
If the programming software you are using wont accept the 16F628 then you can use either the 16F627 or even the 16F84A on this board.
